Have you ever wanted to lord your own personal theology over the theology of the Scriptures but didn’t know how?

The “How To” Show is here to help.

The Bible is supposed to kill you.  Granted, it will also make you alive.  But when the Bible speaks the Word of Law, it’s supposed to kill you.  It’s supposed to dash your idols to pieces, crush the serpentine heads of your false gods, supposed to destroy everything within you that is contrary to God and His Word.

And if that never happens to you, that’s probably not a good thing.  If you never find your own heart smooshed into jelly beneath the Foot of God, then you either aren’t sinning (which is not the case) or you’re not believing.

Saint Augustine once said, “If you believe what you like in the gospels, and reject what you don’t like, it is not the gospel you believe, but yourself.”  And if you constantly find yourself thinking, “boy, those words would really condemn me if they meant exactly what they said,” take a look in the mirror.  There’s your idol.
